How it works

I am in the process of making dollies to take to the children I will be meeting on the World Vision Tanzania Volunteer Trip in September 2016. I’m asking friends to ‘sponsor’ a dolly for $20.00.
The doll’s are hand made by me, some will have embroidered faces and, as we will be visiting some Muslim communities I have also been making what I hope are appropriate dolls for the Muslim children.
They not only have a heart to show we care, but proudly display a Canadian flag on the back.
How it works -
If you would like to participate by ‘sponsoring’ a dolly, or even just making a donation, you can e-transfer the money to me through your bank or donate through the PayPal button located on my blog at :http://mymissionsa.blogspot.ca/
If you wish you can let me know which type of doll you’d like and if you prefer a boy or a girl. If you would like, I can attach a small gift card where I will be able to write a short message from you to the child.
I can also email you a picture or pictures of your dolls if you wish.
Thank-you in advance or your support.

“Heroes take journeys confront dragons and discover the treasure of their true selves.”

It certainly sounds like we had an awful lot of time off to do all these excursions, even to myself, looking back, I wonder how we fit it all in. But actually I had 3 weekends, the first weekend I got there before work  actually started on the Monday, then the 2 after, plus we had evenings free as well. When your somewhere new like this, (at least for me) you try and fit in as many experiences as you can, 'cuze Lord knows if you'll ever get another chance. I know some people think maybe you ought not to be doing all these things when your there to help the under privileged, but I don't think you should feel guilty for the chance to have wonderful new adventures.

So, everybody decided they wanted to go to a craft/produce market that was located quite a distance away, back out to the main highway from Durban and up past Richards Bay. It was clear that we would need to rent 2 cars to ferry everyone. One of the girls was brave enough to drive, but the rest of us were unsure we wanted to attempt it. Being as I booked a car to pick up in Richards Bay to drive down and over to Greytown to see Nikki and Fundiswa (believe me, I checked every other way to get there and it was the only option) so I decided that if they were brave enough to passenger with me, I would give it a go, as it would give me a trial run before the next leg of my journey. Was terrifying at first, but got a little less stressful by the time we were heading back.
me 'n' the rental car - how brave I felt!
