How it works

I am in the process of making dollies to take to the children I will be meeting on the World Vision Tanzania Volunteer Trip in September 2016. I’m asking friends to ‘sponsor’ a dolly for $20.00.
The doll’s are hand made by me, some will have embroidered faces and, as we will be visiting some Muslim communities I have also been making what I hope are appropriate dolls for the Muslim children.
They not only have a heart to show we care, but proudly display a Canadian flag on the back.
How it works -
If you would like to participate by ‘sponsoring’ a dolly, or even just making a donation, you can e-transfer the money to me through your bank or donate through the PayPal button located on my blog at :http://mymissionsa.blogspot.ca/
If you wish you can let me know which type of doll you’d like and if you prefer a boy or a girl. If you would like, I can attach a small gift card where I will be able to write a short message from you to the child.
I can also email you a picture or pictures of your dolls if you wish.
Thank-you in advance or your support.

This it it!

Well, this is my last night at home! Tomorrow I catch the 1 o'clock ferry to Vancouver, where my daughter will be picking me up and I will spend the night with her. Then off to the airport in the morning for the start of my adventure with my 10:30 am flight. I must admit I am finally slightly nervous, not so much about being over there, as the amount of luggage I have! It seems all my sponsors decided to do backpacks and they are not small, so trying to pack those has been a challenge! My one bag, that is fully of gifts for the children weighs 65lbs and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be getting some grief. I managed to get all the clothes and such in a duffell bag and have a backpack and shoulder bag for carry-on. Nothing is to light-weight! I'm sure I will be paying tons extra to get them on the flights (providing they allow them) especially in country. Hope I manage to find luggage carts, where ever i go. It will all be fine once there, because most of the weight will be gone. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that I have only nice ticket agents and custom agents. The getting over there will be an event all on it's own.
Have heard from our team leader, she arrived there 2 days ago in Durban and said it was 16 degress and raining. She is now at the lodge and says it is very remote.
I'm heading to bed now and hoping to get some sleep. So will be in touch again, when I am able.
Blessings to all
