How it works

I am in the process of making dollies to take to the children I will be meeting on the World Vision Tanzania Volunteer Trip in September 2016. I’m asking friends to ‘sponsor’ a dolly for $20.00.
The doll’s are hand made by me, some will have embroidered faces and, as we will be visiting some Muslim communities I have also been making what I hope are appropriate dolls for the Muslim children.
They not only have a heart to show we care, but proudly display a Canadian flag on the back.
How it works -
If you would like to participate by ‘sponsoring’ a dolly, or even just making a donation, you can e-transfer the money to me through your bank or donate through the PayPal button located on my blog at :http://mymissionsa.blogspot.ca/
If you wish you can let me know which type of doll you’d like and if you prefer a boy or a girl. If you would like, I can attach a small gift card where I will be able to write a short message from you to the child.
I can also email you a picture or pictures of your dolls if you wish.
Thank-you in advance or your support.

Update on First Aid Course

Wow, I've had my first 3 sessions of my first aid training, Wednesday will be the final. What a lot of info to try and take in, especially when you haven't been in school or anything for over 30 years! Each session is 4 hours. So far we've covered CPR, assessing the scene to determine heart attacks, strokes etc and tonight we were learning about splints, broken bones and spinal injuries, as well as how to move the injured. There are 4 teachers, and 5 students taking it with me (I seem to be the oldest!) My only concern is will I be able to remember all this when and if and emergency arises.
In November a girlfriend and I are going to start a yoga class, which I am hoping will get me a little more limbered up, in case I have a lot of physical labour while on the trip. At least that won't be quite so taxing on my brain!
Everyday my grand daughter and I are faithfully walking to the mailbox, still looking for the elusive picture of Nikki and his Grandmother. So far, no joy.
I am having a bottle drive, here, on Wednesday to try and raise a little more in the way of funds. I thought that if the neighbours didn't want to purchase the t-shirts ( and very few did) , they might be kind enough to give away a few bottles for return. Will have to wait and see how that goes over. Will keep everyone informed.
Am feeling little out of sorts tonight, think I am coming down with a cold. The grand daughter has started back to school and has already brought one home. Such is the life of having a child in Elementary school (smile).
All for now.
